Residents will have the opportunity to stay with the same provider for electric aggregation.  On March 7th our city leaders went to bid for electric rates to get our citizens good pricing.  The current rate is .05669/kwh.  The rates that will be presented to customers are 0.05053/kwh for the 1st year and 0.05044/kwh for the next two years.  The company that provided the low bid is Homefield, the same company that currently we are under contract with regarding electric aggregation and the municipal supplier of choice.  Home owners will begin to see savings on their June 2018 bill and save 0.00009/kwh the last two years of the agreement.  This contract will run from May 2018 until May 2021, if you currently have Homefield you do not have to do anything.  Customers that are with Ameren and currently Homefield will receive letters that are forthcoming.
