Opened in 1908, The Vespasian Warner Public Library District (VWPLD) is located in Clinton, Illinois and also serves the villages of Wapella, Hallsville, Lane, Dewitt, and other surrounding areas. The VWPLD provides popular and educational materials, public programs for all ages, and serves as a repository of DeWitt County history. Free library cards are available to residents who live within the library district boundaries.

Mission: The Vespasian Warner Public Library District strives to be a welcoming place that meets the diverse needs of its communities through high-quality resources and supportive services to stimulate and facilitate creativity, curiosity and learning.

Collections: Library card holders can check-out best-seller books, newly-released movies, audiobooks, video games, CDs, magazines and more. A 24/7 digital library is also available so library card holders can access content without leaving home.

Services: The library offers notary service, home-bound delivery, public meeting rooms, a seed library, public computers, free Wi-Fi, copying, faxing, scanning, reference help, and much more. Some services have nominal fees, but many are free.

Programs: A variety of free programs are offered to the public on a monthly basis. Past topics have included American history, gardening, ghost hunting, Abraham Lincoln, and arts and crafts.
