Welcome to the Clinton Police Department. My name is Ben Lowers and it is my honor and privilege to serve as your Chief of Police. The men and women who comprise this department are committed to delivering honest, impartial and ethical law enforcement services to our residents and all who visit our community. We currently serve a population of 7,020 people and are patrolling a community that is 4.8 square miles in size.

The Clinton Police Department prides itself for the contribution we make towards improving the quality of life in Clinton. This is accomplished by providing a full spectrum of law enforcement programs and services. The department has a uniform Patrol Division, Investigations Division, K-9 Unit, D.A.R.E., School Resource Officer and Proactive Unit.  We are also a member of Task Force 6, a multi-jurisdictional drug enforcement unit consisting of local, county, state and federal agencies throughout DeWitt and McLean counties.

Please take some time to visit our Department through this website. We welcome your input and suggestions as we are always looking at new initiatives to ensure that we remain responsive to our community’s needs and continue to provide the services that are important to you. We are committed to making our department one of the finest police departments in the State of Illinois. We appreciate your support.

Respectfully,

Robert B. Lowers
Chief of Police
