With the support of the City Council, Mayor Helen Michelassi rolled out the Block by Block Program on Saturday August 8 at a home on Illini Drive in Clinton. The program is designed to help homeowners who need assistance with clean-up and small improvements to the exterior area of their homes.

A group of volunteers helped homeowner Peggy, who has health issues, remove tree branches and brush that were limiting the view of her home at 106 Illini Drive. A dedicated group of helpers spent five hours clearing and removing brush.

Peggy and her sister Debbie provided snacks and drinks in the front yard. They expressed their gratitude to the council and volunteers for initiating the program and improving the appearance of their property.

More properties are on the list as future Block by Block projects. To join the volunteer crew, contact Mayor Helen Michelassi at hmichelassi@clintonillinois.com.
