Early Wednesday morning, the community welcomed the return of the honor flight with Ben Whitted who made the trip to Washington D.C.

Ben Whitted, center, and his grandson Jordan made the trip to the Washington D.C. monuments honoring our fallen military members. Grandsons Nathan and Neil were at the Clinton High School Wednesday morning to help place U.S. flags along the return route.

Brandon Robinson, with the Clinton Fire Department, was one of many first responders who were on hand to welcome Ben Whitted of Clinton and Les Franzen of Farmer City home from their Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Law enforcement officers from DeWitt County and the Illinois State Police helped escort the Honor Flight families home from the airport in Springfield.
